IAS Exam 2019 Cutoff- Check Category-wise Previous Years' Cutoff
UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) conducts IAS Exam yearly to recruit qualified candidates for the posts of IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS and other Group and Group B of All India Services. IAS 2019 Preliminary test was held on June 2, 2019 in offline mode.
- Candidates who clear prelims can sit for main paper and similarly who clear main exam can sit for interview/personality test. Check IAS Exam Pattern
- However, candidate’s score in prelims will not be taken into consideration while preparing Final Merit List.
- IAS Main examination will be conducted on September 20, 2019 in 24 cities across India. Read IAS Main Syllabus
- The final merit list will be prepared keeping in record, candidate’s performance in UPSC Main and Personality Test i.e. Interview round.
Expected IAS 2019 Cutoff
UPSC IAS 2019 Cutoff will be released by the commission after the releasing of final result in the period of May, 2020. The cutoff will be based on candidate’s performance.Here is the normal IAS cutoff for 2019:

IAS Exam Results 2019
IAS Exam Result for UPSC Prelims which was held on June 02, 2019 has been announced on July 12, 2019. The results are available on the official site of the commission in a PDF record group. The list contains roll numbers of students who have cleared for UPSC Main Examination. UPSC Marksheet for Prelims and Main will be out simply after the Final merit list is announced by the Commission.
IAS Exam Result for main will be announced in January 2020 and based on the marks in the UPSC main, applicants will be called for the interview. A final merit list will be prepared taking into account the IAS main marks and marks in the interview. The final list will be released in May 2020.
How to download IAS Exam Results?
The final merit list will be uploaded on the official website in the month of May, 2020. However, candidates can check their IAS Exam Result for Prelims by following the given below steps:

- Next, look for the result link for UPSC Prelims 2019.
- A PDF displaying the IAS Exam Results appears on screen from which the candidates must find their roll number.
IAS selection process 2019
UPSC Prelims Exam
IAS Prelims was held on June 02, 2019. Aspirants will qualify for main after the IAS Cut off is released. IAS Prelims involves different questions for aggregate of 400 marks. Applicants must realize that marks scored in Preliminary test for IAS won’t be considered while preparing the final merit list. Those competitors who qualify the UPSC Prelims will be qualified to sit for the IAS main examination.
The Commission will draw a list of candidates to be equipped for UPSC principle dependent on the standard of minimum qualifying marks of 33% in General Studies Paper-II of UPSC Prelims and complete qualifying marks of General Studies Paper-I of UPSC Prelims. IAS Cut off for main of IAS Exam will be released based on total marks acquired in Paper-I out of 200 marks and marks scored in Paper-II out of 200 marks.
UPSC Main Exam
UPSC main is conducted in 2 parts namely, written examination and interview. Aspirants who qualify in the UPSC Prelims are eligible to sit for the UPSC main. Written examination is of 3 hours and the candidates who qualify it successfully are called for interview or personality test by the Commission.
Interview of IAS Exam will carry 275 marks and there will not be any qualifying marks in this round. The board will examine the candidate’s personality and suitability for the services that he/she has applied and ask the questions accordingly.
Final Selection
Final selection for various All India Services will be done on the basis of the marks secured by candidate in UPSC main and Interview session. The candidates will be allotted the services according to the final score and preferences selected by them in the earlier stages. Marks scored in UPSC Prelims will not be included while preparing the Final Merit List. Candidates will be able to access the final merit list on the official website.
