National Jal Itihas Utsav is organized by the ministry of JAL Shakti in Delhi. The Ministry of Jal Shakti will host ‘Jal Itihas Utsav’ on December 1st at Shamsi Talab, Jahaz Mahal in Mehrauli, Delhi. The main aim is to make people more aware of protecting water heritage sites, instill a sense of ownership and encourage tourism and restoration of these historical structures. The Jal Shakti Ministry said that Lt. Governor of Delhi Vinai Kumar Saxena and Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat are expected to be present at the event.

The Union Ministry of Urban and Housing affairs launched Amplifi 2.0 portal. The Amplifi portal, which stands for Assessment and Monitoring Platform for Liveable, Inclusive, and Future-Ready Urban India, wants to share information about Indian cities. It gathers information from different cities in India and puts it all in one place. This helps students, researchers, and people involved in decision-making to use the data when making decisions. Right now, 258 urban local bodies (ULB) have joined, and data for 150 cities is on the portal. It shows various details about these cities, like how much diesel they use and the water quality test results.

NLCIL signed an MOU with NTTF and TNSDC for youth employment. NLC India Limited, a government company under the Ministry of Coal, signed a MoU (Memorandum of understanding) with Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) and Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) in Chennai. This collaboration aims to provide job-oriented skill development training to 540 young individuals from families affected by NLC India Limited’s projects in Neyveli. The company plans to invest Rs 1.12 lakh per candidate in this free residential training program. It will help them to acquire technical skills and secure job opportunities in leading companies.

V R Lalithambika was conferred with top French Civilian Award Legion d’Honneur. V R Lalithambika, who used to lead the Human Spaceflight Program at ISRO, received a top French award called the Légion d’honneur on 28 November. She got this honor because of her important work in strengthening space collaboration between France and India. The Ambassador of France to India, Thierry Mathou, gave her the award on behalf of the French government. This award was established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, and it is the most important award given by the French Republic to civilians. People receive it for outstanding service to France, no matter where they’re from.

Arshia Sattar received French literary honor. Famous author and translator Arshia Sattar was honored with the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French government, a prestigious honor. The award ceremony took place at the Consulate General of France in Bengaluru on November 28, where it was presented by Thierry Mathou, the ambassador of France to India. Arshia Sattar, who is 63 years old and lives in Bengaluru, has made important contributions to Indian literature and mythology. She is well-known for translating epics like the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Honored with the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters is a prestigious recognition that puts Arshia Sattar in esteemed company.

President Droupadi Murmu will give the highest honor, the President’s Colour, to the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune today. Nepal has witnessed its initial same-sex marriage, as a trans-woman and a gay man legally tied the knot in the Lamjung district. Nepal has officially documented its first same-sex marriage, and this comes five months after the Supreme Court legalized it. According to PTI, a 35-year-old trans-woman named Maya Gurung and a 27-year-old gay man, Surendra Pandey, got legally married in Dordi Rural Municipality in the Lamjung district of Western Nepal. This was confirmed by Sanjib Gurung ,the president of Blue Diamond Society.

World AIDS Day started in 1988, and this year on 1st of December marks its 35th anniversary. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations (UN) created it to focus on the worldwide AIDS problem and bring it to people’s attention. World AIDS Day is really important because it helps spread the word about HIV/AIDS, teaching people how it spreads and ways to prevent it. On December 1 every year, the Border Security Force (BSF) of India celebrates its Raising Day. This day marks the creation of BSF, which is India’s main border-guarding organization established on December 1, 1965. BSF, known as the First Line of Defence for Indian Territories, is a paramilitary force responsible for protecting India’s land borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh in times of peace. Their role includes preventing transnational crime.
