This provides tremendous opportunities for you as the future leaders of business, industry, and academia, said Col Dr Y S Siddegowda, Vice Chairman, KSHEC, and former vice-chancellor, Tumkur University.
Siddegowda was the chief guest at the tenth graduation ceremony of St Agnes, Mangaluru, held on Saturday. He said emphasis should be laid on the development of character through ethical issues and fostering empathy and compassion. The world is changing rapidly, and it is more important than ever that you continue to learn and grow throughout your life, he said.
The ceremony witnessed the awarding of graduation certificates by the institution to the class of 2019.A total of 650 graduates including 121 postgraduates received the degree on the occasion.
In her presidential address, Sr Lydia, joint secretary of St Agnes Institution, said: “An opportunity lost today is an opportunity lost forever. Therefore, use every opportunity to make a unique contribution to this world. You should understand your sweet spot to strike the world and take a stand. The wide comfort zone is dangerous. Therefore, one must plant seeds of hard work today to bear fruits of labour tomorrow and embrace the power of love and trust in God.
