NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday announced the class 12th results for the academic year 2022-23, with a pass percentage of 87.33%. The pass percentage is a significant improvement over the 83.40% of 2019 in the pre-Covid period. Last year’s pass percentage was 92.71%, which indicates a drop in the overall pass percentage this year.
This year’s results have no merit list, but 1.36% of the students scored 95% and above, while 6.80% scored 90% and above. Out of the 16 regions, Trivandrum has the highest pass percentage of 99.91%, while Prayagraj region has the lowest pass percentage of 78%.
Girls have once again outshined boys in class 12 CBSE results, with an overall pass percentage of 90.68%. However, the pass percentage of girls has declined as compared to last year, when 94.54% girls had passed. In comparison to this, 84.67% boys have passed class 12 exams this year, with a lower pass percentage than last year’s 91.25%.
Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated the students on Twitter and asked those who could not meet expectations to not lose heart. He said, “One examination does not define a person’s ability. Keep working hard and chase your dreams. Success comes to those who never give up.” He also highlighted the performance of girl students, saying, “More reasons for us as a society to remove all barriers to girls’ education.”
Students can access their results through various channels, including the official website, DigiLocker, SMS, and IVRS. Those who are not satisfied with their results can also apply for re-evaluation or verification of marks.
