NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi on Tuesday began the admissions for three new courses namely MA in Hindu Studies, MA in Chinese Studies, and PG Diploma in Cyber Security & Law. As per the schedule, the registration window for these programmes will close on September 30, 2023.
As per a DU information bulletin, these courses have the objective of integrating conventional teachings of Hindu philosophy with modern disciplines such as computer science, informatics, commerce, and political science.
Additionally, they seek to equip students with proficiency in Chinese and make them aware of the latest techniques in the cyber world. The bulletin mentions that these courses will focus on both the modern job aspirations of candidates and a thorough comprehension of the Hindu ethos.
MA in Hindu Studies
There are a total of 60 seats available for the PG course. Check out the category-wise allocation here;
Unreserved Category: 24 seats
OBC (Other Backward Classes): 16 seats
SC (Scheduled Caste): 9 seats
EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): 6 seats
ST (Scheduled Tribe): 5 seats
Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any field are eligible to apply for this PG programme.
MA in Chinese Studies
There are a total of 49 seats available for this course and the category-wise allocation is;
General: 19 seats
OBC (Other Backward Classes): 13 seats
SC (Scheduled Caste): 7 seats
EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): 6 seats
ST (Scheduled Tribe): 4 seats
A Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university in India or a foreign university with at least 50% marks, along with 1 year (full-time) PG Intensive Advanced Diploma Course in Chinese conducted by DU or a UGC-recognised university.
or
A Bachelor’s degree in Chinese from any recognised university in India or a foreign university with at least 15 years of education, along with at least 50% marks in the aggregate or an equivalence programme in Chinese.
PG Diploma in Cyber Security & Law
There are a total of 64 seats available, divided as follows;
General: 25
EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): 17
SC (Scheduled Caste): 10
EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): 7
OBC (Other Backward Classes): 5
Candidates will be given admission on the basis of the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying degree exam. Degree holders in Computer Science/Information Technology/Computer Applications/Software Development/ Computer Engineering or equivalent can apply for the programme.
