NEW DELHI: As the admission process for UG and PG programmes are nearing, the University has decided to launch separate admission portals for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, said a senior official on Tuesday. He further confirmed that the admission process is expected to begin on May 20, under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS).
Last year, Delhi University carried out the admission process for undergraduate programmes through the Common University Test (CUET). A total of 70 colleges of the University participated in CUET UG 2022. For the first time, the University will conduct the admission for postgraduate programmes through CSAS (PG) 2023. Students must note that the CUET UG-2023 registration concluded on April 11, 2023. Over 200 universities are participating in the Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG) – 2023.
In an attempt to ease out the Delhi University admission process, the administration has decided to provide a separate registration portal for CUET (UG)-2023 and CUET (PG)-2023. The university expects the admission process to be smooth this year, said the official.
“We are fully prepared to take admissions to UG and PG programmes through CUET. We will be launching two separate portals for admissions to graduate and postgraduate programmes,” the official said.
“Last year, we conducted the admission through the CUET for the first time. This year the admission (process) will be smoother. We are ready to conduct PG admission for the first time as well. We are confident about that as well,” the official added.
As of April 04, a total of 16.85 lakh students have registered for CUET UG 2023. Out of 16.85 lakhs, 13.995 lakhs paid the application fee and submitted the application form—an increase of 4.0 lakh students from the previous year. In 2023, there is a 41% increase in the total number of students who will sit for CUET-UG.
The highest number of applicants for CUET UG – 2023 is for the University of Delhi, followed by Banaras Hindu University, Allahabad University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University and Jamia Millia Islamia. The Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG)-2023 is scheduled to be conducted from May 21 to 31.
