AHMEDABAD: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, has recently completed the final placement process for its one-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (MBA-PGPX). In the batch of 2023, approximately 128 students accepted job offers this year. Bengaluru was the top city that job aspirants chose (33 offers accepted) closely followed by Delhi NCR with 31 accepted job offers. Similar to last year the highest chosen international location has been Dubai.
The students from IIM Ahmedabad were chosen for leadership positions as well as middle and senior management roles, both by Indian and international recruiters. Some of the roles for which students were recruited include vice president, director, leadership program candidates, program head, product head, assistant vice president, general manager, among others.
Apart from senior leadership and middle management positions in major corporations, even startups – including unicorns and those on the verge of becoming unicorns – hired a significant number of students from IIM Ahmedabad this year.
Similar to previous year’s trends, consulting firms took the lead as the top recruiters, employing 204 candidates domestically. However in the present year, all of 6 placed internationally were in the consultation domain, with another 25 domestically in the same domain; closely followed by 24 candidates domestically placed in the IT services domain.
A PG diploma in management offers promising job prospects. Diploma holders find opportunities in diverse sectors such as consulting, finance, marketing, Information Technology, among others. Prospective job titles can be marketing specialist, HR manager, executive assistant, and others.
Strong academics, relevant work experience, and effective communication skills are crucial for success.
