NEW DELHI: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2023, which is set to be conducted tomorrow, May 7, 2023, has been postponed in Manipur.
Minister of State for Education of India and BJP MP from Manipur, Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, had written to the medical entrance exam conducting agency, National Testing Agency (NTA), requesting them to “explore the possibility of rescheduling” the exam, in the wake of the situation in Manipur.
Following that the NTA has postponed the exam, “NEET (UG)-2023 Exam for the candidates who were allotted exam centres in Manipur and their exam will be held at a later date,” reads the official notification.
On NTA postponing NEET 2023 exam for aspirants who were allotted examination centres in Manipur, MoS education said, “I had requested them to postpone the exam, in the current situation. The new date of the exam will be fixed. 5751 candidates were scheduled to appear at the two centres in Manipur.”
“In Manipur, because of the current situation, students cannot appear for NEET (UG)-2023 exam because of broadband and internet connectivity issue. So, I requested the NTA to reschedule or postpone the exam for exam centres in the state. NTA has circulated a notification about the postponement of the exam at centres in Manipur,” he added further.
