Bhubaneswar: Swayam Shakti Tripathy, a student of SAI International School has secured 8th position in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET)- 2023, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. Swayam has scored 715 out of 720 with a percentile of 99.99 and is the state topper.
“I can’t describe in words the feeling now. I did not expect that I would be among the top ten, but my teachers were confident that I would be among the top scorers,” Swayam told TOI.
Surya Prakash Mishra and Abhipsa Chowdhury of the same school have secured AIR of 35 and 63 in the NEET by securing 710 out of 720 in the national entrance test for admission into medical colleges across the country. “My father, who is a doctor, has always inspired me to be a doctor. I wish to study MBBS in AIIMS-Delhi,” said Mishra. Both the students said thorough study of NCERT books helped them in scoring high marks in the NEET exam. Abhipsa Chowdhury has ranked 16th position among the top-20 female candidates.
Three students of the state have topped in the PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) category. Rudra Narayan Sahu, and Tilak Agrawal ranked 4th and 5th among the male candidates in PwBD category in India while Gitikrishna Swain bagged 9th position among the successful female students in this category.
As many as 57092 students registered for NEET from Odisha this year of whom a total 55, 866 students appeared for the NEET examination of whom 28,330 have qualified the test. Last year 33945 students appeared and 20654 had qualified for admission.
