DEHRADUN: Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) on Wednesday organised a ‘Science of Joyful Living’ workshop at Raj Bhawan.
The workshop, with an aim to focus on a healthy mind in a healthy body, was conducted in various stages. Each phase focused on a different aspect such as diet, exercise, breathing, creative use of emotions, meditation, etc.
Uttarakhand governor, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, was the chief guest of the event who, in his address, iterated on the need for a healthy and happy soul.
“We have to look for happiness within. That’s the ultimate goal. A calm mindset and understanding of the teachings of Swami Rama will help us achieve that peace,” said the governor.
“Diseases often manifest themselves due to a turbulent mind. A calm outlook can help overcome several challenges. Breathing is the link between body and mind. Meditation and yoga help calm the nervous system which helps evolve our thought process,” said Dr Vijay Dhasmana, chancellor, SRHU.
