An embedded system is a computer system!
It is a combination of a computer processor, memory, and input/output devices.
It has a function within a larger mechanical or electrical system.
However, it is part of a complete device that includes electrical or electronic hardware and mechanical parts.
Because an embedded system typically controls all the operations of the machine that it is embedded within the device, it often has real-time computing limitations.
Embedded systems control many devices in common that are in use today.
However, most of the microprocessors manufactured are in embedded systems!
These devices are to control, access the data in electronics-based systems!
There are a lot of embedded systems used in cars!
The innovations of this system within the vehicle are being challenged to make the vehicle very efficient and safe!
Embedded Systems Used In Cars
In automobile systems, much more equipment is being changed from mechanical to electronic systems.
This system is the heart of the car’s electronic system because of its different features and flexibility.
The revolution of electronics has manipulated in automotive design including fuel combustion, and so on.
Embedded Airbag System
This system helps to produce an important safety device.
In other words, it provides protection against the head crash for the front seaters.
This System works on the commands from the inbuilt microcontroller.
But, this controller of the system gets the power from the battery inside it. If the sensors detect an accident, this controller operates the airbag system by the operating alternator.
Embedded Navigation System
One more success of the embedded system in automobiles is the navigational system using a GPS system.
For instance, this system consists of an embedded built with a GPS receiver and a display system!
The GPS receiver receives the values that compare with the stored map.
However, the sensors inside provide the road direction and speed.
From all the information gathered at the controller, the display system displays a map of the destination on the display screen.
Adaptive Cruise Control
The innovation of the embedded system is Adaptive Cruise Control technology!
By using this technology we can make driverless vehicle control in reality! This adaptive cruise control allows cars to keep safe distances from other vehicles during your journey on the busy highway roads.
Hence, the driver of the car can set the speed of his respective vehicle and the distance between his car and other vehicles!
When the traffic slows down, it changes vehicle speed using moderate braking whenever required.
