CA – CPT exam is the foundation stage of the CA Course conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India ( ICAI ) twice every year in June and December. Students can register and appear for the CPT exams after the 12th Boards Exams.

The exams assess the candidate’s knowledge in Accountancy, Mercantile Laws, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Economics.

The CA-CPT exam has two sessions. i.e., Session I and Session II. Session I examines the knowledge of Fundamentals of accounting and the Mercantile Law. Session II examines the understanding of General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude (Maths). Both the sessions carry 100 marks each with 50 marks for each paper. The passing marks are 50%, i.e., 100 marks.
