After working in Qualcomm Private Limited, Bangalore for 14 months, she joined Defence Research and Development Organization(DRDO) through her Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering score.
In her second attempt, she got a prestigious job in the Audit and Account Service of Civil Services in Mumbai. Even though she did not stop and continued her prep. In her fourth attempt at the age of 28, she topped the Civil Services exam and got AIR 3.
She was very concentrated on her work as well as study. Since childhood, she has had a dream of becoming an IAS officer and Ankita proves it by her hard work and dedication. Ankita Jain chose Philosophy as her optional subject. She used to study for six hours in a day. Ankita Jain comes from a civil servant family . Her husband Abhinav Tyagi is an Indian police service Officer in the Maharashtra cadre. Her sister Vaishali also cleared the Civil Services exam and got the 21st Rank. Ankita Jain’s aspiration is to work in child and women development, she said in an interview, “I want to work in child and women development in future. Ankita Jain’s Preparation Tips
Ankita Jain, who had appeared for the civil services exam earlier, was well aware of her weaknesses as she appeared for her fourth attempt. She said that the failed attempts helped her understand the exam pattern better. She therefore focused on improving her shortcomings and adhering to strict time management. Both Ankita Jain and Vaishali Jain prepared for the exam together and secured top marks.
Preparing for the UPSC IAS exam along with work was not easy for Ankita, but she had her basic education ready before starting work. She added that “students preparing for UPSC should focus on their goals instead of roaming around”.
Vaishali Jain, on the other hand, believes that preparing for UPSC Mains is not just limited to academics but is also a test of candidates’ mental strength and self-motivation. She added that “time management is also very vital and should be different for mains and prelims,” emphasising the need for candidates to be familiar with the syllabus and tie it to everything they learn and read while in class and when reading the news.
