1. All You Need To Know About SNAP Test
The term SNAP simply stands for Symbiosis National Aptitude Test. This national level MBA entrance test is conducted by Symbiosis International University located in Pune, India for selecting students for various management programs.
The aspiring candidates are required to develop a separate strategy to crack SNAP Test 2019.
2. SNAP Test Syllabus and Exam Pattern
The SNAP test is divided into four sections and as mentioned earlier have undergone few changes this year.
- Section 1: General English that covers, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, and Verbal Ability
- Section 2: Consists of Quantitative, Data Interpretation, and Data Sufficiency
- Section 3: It is that of General Awareness, which include General Knowledge and now consists of questions from the two-year’s Current Affairs
- Section 4: Questions on Analytical and Logical Reasoning
3. Marking Scheme
Every question has four options and the right answer attracts one mark while a wrong one draws 25% negative marks.
The maximum weight of the marks is 130.
Students can attempt any section in any order.

Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency
It has been observed in the past that the SNAP Test consists of several questions on Arithmetic. For instance, there could be questions on Averages, Mixtures and Alligations, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Ratio and Proportion, Time and Distance, Time and Work.
Mensuration (Geometry) also has a fair weightage in SNAP Exam.
In certain years, questions on Data Sufficiency were absent in SNAP Test. However, in other years they were in a good quantity. All in all, it is better to be prepared on the topic.
Experts are of the opinion that Data Interpretation questions in SNAP Test are easy-moderate difficulty levels always. Thus it is a good idea to attempt them and score. Compared to the CAT exam or XAT exam, the SNAP test DI section is fairly easier.
General English
Students who are preparing for MBA entrance exams usually master the English section more easily compared to rest sections. Questions in General English are divided broadly into reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, verbal ability.
Reading Comprehension consists of around 4-6 passages. There are usually more questions about vocabulary.
Analytical & Logical Reasoning
Education experts say that scoring high in Analytical and Logical Reasoning is important as it is a decisive section.
It will have questions on various topics such as the following:- analogies, arrangement, blood relations, critical reasoning, deductive logic, logical reasoning sets, puzzles, series, visual reasoning.
Current Affairs
The current affairs section has questions on static general knowledge as well as daily happenings.
Most candidates find the current affairs section toughest.
Questions are asked on awards and books, business and economics, and such topics. Here it is important to be certain of answer and only then marking it.
5. Preparation for SNAP is in tune with that of CAT
For those who have prepared for other national level examinations such as CAT or XAT, a SNAP preparation may not be hard. This is mainly due to the fact the SNAP syllabus seems to be almost the same as that of other examinations. Hence, a common preparation will be enough.
