Examinations:
In order to qualify to appear the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam, one must be an Indian citizen, having attained the age of 21 years. Maximum age limit is 30 years. Any person who is above this age group is not eligible to appear for the UPSC exams. The person should be holder of any degree which is recognized by the Indian Government. A maximum of 4 attempts are allowed for candidates from every categories except for those who belong to SC/ST. They are allowed 7 attempts.
Examination Stages:
The preliminary examination consists of two papers. The main exam consists of 9 papers. The candidates who pass these exams are then selected for the interview. The UPSC interview is considered to be one of the toughest and tests the candidate thoroughly. Candidates who are selected after the interview are given options to choose from the different options of Civil Services.
