The minimum educational qualification which is required to fill in the IAS civil service exam application is graduation in any stream from a recognized university. To become an IAS officer, one needs to clear an all-India exam conducted by UPSC.
- How many marks are required for IAS?
There is no minimum percentage criteria for the qualifying exam of the same. Any graduate with any percentage in their respective course can apply to become an IAS officer. The only educational qualification mandatory is that the candidate must be a graduate or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university. There is nowhere stated of the minimum passing percentage required to appear in the examination.
- Which qualification required for ias?
The candidates who are in the last year of their degree course, are also eligible to fill the civil services examination application, provided that they need to submit their final year mark sheet/ score sheet at the time of Detailed Application Form (DAF) submission for the UPSC civil service main exam.
For those candidates who have passed the final professional M.B.B.S. Examination but are yet to complete their internship by the time of submission of their applications for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, will be provisionally admitted to the examination. Afterwards they will be required to submit a copy of a certificate from the concerned authority of the University/Institution stating that he/she had passed the requisite final professional medical examination.
As per the eligibility criteria for the UPSC civil service exam, in such above mentioned cases, it will be essential for the candidates to produce at the time of the interview, original degree or a certificate from the concerned competent authority of the University/Institution stating that he/she had fulfilled all requirements (including the completion of internship) for the award of the Degree. They must submit proof of their degree when asked to ensure their eligibility.
