  • SSC Stenographer 2019 exam will be held on May 5 – 7, 2019.

SSC Stenographer 2019 Eligibility

Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by SSC before applying for the exam. As if it is found that the candidate does not satisfy any of the eligibility conditions at any stage of the exam, his/her candidature will be cancelled. 

SSC Stenographer Age Limit

The minimum age limit for all the candidates as on January 1, 2020 is 18 years. Given below is the upper age limit for Grade C and D steno: However, relaxation is given to candidates from OBC and SC/ST category

  • Upper Age Limit for Grade C stenographer – 30 years
  • Upper Age Limit for Grade D stenographer – 27 years

Candidates belonging to reserved categories are given upper age relaxation as per government of India norms.

SSC Steno Qualifications Requirement

  • Candidates should have completed class 12 or equivalent from a recognized Board as on January 1, 2020.
  • They must possess stenography skills as a skill test will be held before final allotment.

Pre-requisites for SSC Steno 2019 Registration

Candidates will require the following documents and details during the application process:

  • A valid Mobile Number (to be verified through OTP)
  • An active Email ID (to be verified through OTP).
  • Aadhaar Number/ Voter ID Card/ PAN/ Passport/ Driving License/ School or College ID or Employer ID (Govt./ PSU/ Private)
  • Class 10, 12 and other qualifications Marksheets
  • Scanned image of candidate’s colour passport size photograph (20 KB to 50 KB)
  • Scanned image of candidate’s signature (10 to 20 KB)
  • Category certificate, if any

How to Fill SSC Stenographer 2019 Application Form?

SSC Stenographer Application Form can be filled by online mode only and candidates are advised to have necessary documents in hand prior to filling the application form. Candidates applying for the first time have to register in the website before applying for the exam.

Step 1: New Registration

  • Candidates can register in the Staff Selection Commission website, www.ssc.nic.in
  • The home page will contain three columns, one for registration and edit options , one for details of the exam and application form and one for printing the application and admit card
  • Candidates have to go to the New Registration column and click on Register option
  • A new page will open and the details for registration will be displayed
  • The page will contain details like Name, Father’s Name, Secondary Board Exam Roll number, Date of Birth and Gender
  • Candidates might have to fill all information twice for verification Process
  • Enter the Captcha and click enter

Step 2: Form Filling

  • The personal details form will contain questions like Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name , Date of Birth, Gender
  • Enter the details as per the 10th certificate. The name, father’s name and mother’s name should be as per the Government certificates
  • The date of birth should be as the 10th
  • The Basic Details form will have questions like Aadhar Card Number, Category, Religion, Nationality, Disability details (if any) and Certificate Number
  • The Contact Details Form will contain questions like Address, State, Pincode, Mobile Number and Email
  • Click on the submit option and
  • Candidates should upload their photograph and signature
  • The photograph should be more than 20 kb and the signature should be more than 50 kb. 
  • The candidates should complete all mandatory columns to go to complete the registration process
  • The examination Centre and code details will be available in the prospectus. We would strongly advise you select a centre near your location for accessibility

Step 3: Post Preference

  • The next column will ask details about preference for posts
  • The details and codes of the post will be available in the exam notification
  • Enter qualification details in the ascending order, Starting from the highest degree
  • The work experience should be entered from recent to last order. Proper experience and reliving letter is mandatory for the work to be considered valid
  • The contact details should be your permanent address and valid contact details

Step 4: SSC Stenographer Application Fee Payment

  • The exam fees can be paid by online and offline mode.
  • Candidates can download the challan, make payment in SBI bank branches and enter the acknowledgement number.
  • Candidates can make online payment through net banking/ debit card/ credit card or BHIM UPI. Candidates can also claim for Fee exemption if they are an Ex Servicemen, Specially Challenged Person, etc.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern is released for ‘Grade C & Grade D’ posts conducted by Staff Selection Commission. It is a common exam for candidates who have successfully completed their Intermediate from a recognized board of university.

  • The exam consists of a written test and a SSC Stenographer Skill Test
  • Written test consists of 200 objective type questions for 200 marks to be finished in 2 hours.

SSC Stenographer 2018 Exam Pattern

SSC conducts this exam in two stages; Preliminary exam and after qualifying this, applicants need to go through a skill test.  Pre-exam comprises of 3 sections i.e., Reasoning, English Comprehension and General awareness. The questions will be classified as per the table given below:

SSC Stenographer 2018 Marking Scheme

SSC Stenographer 2018 Preliminary exam comprises of 200 objective type questions with weightage of 200 marks carrying 1 mark each. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each negative response. The competition level is quite tough considering the number of applicants. Skill Test

After qualifying the Preliminary examination, candidates need to go through skill test to get selected for the post. The skill test/stenography test will be organized at various sub-regional offices or at some other centers. Candidates who qualifies the preliminary exam and eligible for the skill test, will be given one dictation for the time period of 10 minutes in Hindi as well as English with minimum speed of 100 words per minute for the stenographer grade C posts while for Grade D the minimum speed would be 80 words per minute.

results - SSC Stenographer

SSC Stenographer 2018 Result for the written test held from February 5 – 8, 2019 has been declared on April 15, 2019. Result is uploaded on the official website – ssc.nic.in. Candidates who have qualified the written test will have to appear for SSC Stenographer skill test.

  • Skill test is expected to take place in the month of May, 2019.
  • The final result will be announced after the conclusion of the skill test.
  • The candidates will be able to check both their Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) and result of SSC Stenographer 2018 online.

Dates for SSC Stenographer 2018 Result

The first level of the SSC stenographer entrance test, which is a written test, conducted from February 5 – 9, 2019, and results of the same will be declared on April 15, 2019. Only those candidates who qualify the first level need to appear for the second level of test, which will be a skill test to be conducted soon after the result declaration. How to Check SSC Stenographer 2018 Result?

SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Final Exam Result 2018 will be announced by March 2018, after one or two months of completion of skill test. In October 2018, the roll numbers of successful candidates of SSC Stenographer Grade C & D written test will be uploaded in the official website.

All candidates need to check regularly the official website  www.ssconline.nic.in for any updates and results notifications. Only those candidates who qualify the written test will be eligible for the skill test which will be of qualifying in nature, the results of which will be uploaded in March 2018 and this will be considered as the Final SSC Stenographer 2018 Result.

 

The results will be declared in two phases:

First phase: Written Test Results

  • Visit the official website www.ssconline.nic.in
  • Click on “Results” Tab on the home page.
  • Click on “Steno C and D”
  • You will see many new notifications.
  • Click on the appropriate link as per the post applied for or as per your requirement.
  • You will be redirected to a new page in a pdf form displaying SSC Stenographer Grade C and D results
  • The pdf file will show the Roll numbers and names of candidates who have qualified the written test and can appear for the skill test. Their categories will also be displayed.
  • Candidates need to download the result sheet, take a print out for further use in the skill test and subsequent admission process.

Second Phase: Skill Test & Final Result

  • For checking the final result, candidates need to keep visiting the website regularly for new notifications.
  • The final SSC stenographer result will be declared by March 2019.

SSC Stenographer 2018 Merit List

SSC Stenographer 2018 Merit List will include the names and roll numbers of those candidates who meet the required cut-off of SSC Stenographer exam.

Cut off 

The cut-off marks of SSC Stenographer exam will be fixed by SSC. This will be the minimum marks required by candidates to qualify out of a total of 200 marks. The cut-off marks of the various categories will be different and every year the cut-off marks change depending on number of candidates, number of vacancies, level of difficulty of the exam, previous years’ trends and so on.

Tie Breaker method:

In cases of more than one candidate getting the same aggregate marks, tie-breaking methodology will be applied:

  • Marks obtained in written examination
  • Date of birth of candidates, with older candidates given more preference
  • Alphabetical order in which the first name of candidate appear

SSC Stenographer Exam Counselling

The minimum qualifying exam marks for SSC Stenographer 2018 exam will be fixed by SSC only. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in written examination and qualifying candidates will be called for appearing in skill test.

The final selection will be made on the basis of overall performance in both the written examination as well as the typing test. The final SSC Stenographer 2018 is expected to  be declared in June, 2019, and immediately after this, the successful candidates will be called for counseling and admission. Candidates should be on time for counseling on the designated date and center, with all necessary documents, photo id proof and admit card.
