About BHU PET 2020

Banaras Hindu University  will commmece BHU PET 2020 in the third or fourth week of May 2020. BHU Postgraduate Entrance Tests (PET) is conducted for admissions to various postgraduate courses like M.Sc, M.A, L.L.M, M.A Mass Communication, M.F.A, M.Com and M.C.A offered by the university. Candidates are allotted a seat based on their performance in the entrance examination.

The courses under BHU PET are divided into categories such as ‘General’, ‘Professional’, ‘Special’ and ‘Vocational Courses’. Qualified candidates are invited for counselling based on their ranking in the entrance examination. BHU PET counselling 2020 will be held in online mode. Candidates who are allotted a seat during the online counselling need to report at their respective college and complete the document verification process to claim their admission.

bhu pet 2020 eligibility criteria

Candidates can check below the eligibility criteria of BHU PET 2020  –

For SC/ST category candidates- There is no requirement of minimum percentage of marks in aggregate in the qualifying examinations. However, candidates must have passed the qualifying examination and appeared BHU PET 2020. 

For OBC and PwD candidates- There will be a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.

BHU PET M.A. Economics Eligibility Criteria

To appear for BHU PET 2020 Economics examination, candidates will have to meet the following eligibility criteria for Economics as prescribed by the authorities:

Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have passed B.A (Hons.)/B.A/B.Sc (Hons)/B.Sc under 10+2+3 pattern.

Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have, in an aggregate, a minimum of 50% marks including all subjects studied in the qualifying examination. However, excluding those subjects where only passing marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet.

Qualifying Subjects: Candidates must ensure that they have studied the subject in which admission is sought in all the three years at the undergraduate level.

BHU PET M.Com Eligibility Criteria

Given below is the eligibility criteria of BHU PET 2020 M.Com which candidates need to meet to appear in the entrance exam:

Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed B.Com (Hons.)/ B.Com./B.Com.(Hons.)-FMM under (10+2+3) pattern 

Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the last qualifying examination.

BHU PET L.L.M Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for BHU PET 2019 LLM will have to meet the given below eligibility criteria. 

Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have passed 3-Year LL.B. after Graduation under at least 10+2+3 pattern. Candidate who has passed five years LL.B. under 10+2+5 pattern  is also eligible for the entrance exam.

Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in their qualifying examination.

BHU PET M.A. Mass Communication Eligibility Criteria

To appear in BHU PET 2020 Mass Communication entrance test, candidates need to meet the given below eligibility criteria. The mentioned below eligibility criteria of BHU PET 2020 Mass Communication is prescribed by the authorities. 

Qualifying Examination: Candidates appearing for the entrance exam must have graduate degree in any discipline in 10+2+3 pattern. 

Qualifying Marks:  Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the last qualifying examination. 

BHU PET M.C.A. Eligibility Criteria

Mentioned below is the prescribed eligibility criteria of BHU PET MCA 2020 which candidates will have to meet to appear for the entrance exam. 

Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree under at least 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline. 

Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in qualifying examination. 

Compulsory Subject: Candidates must have Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects at either Intermediate or graduation level or equivalent examination.

Banaras Hindu University will release application form of BHU PET 2020 in the second week of February 2020. Candidates will beable to access the application form from the official website of BHU. To appear for BHU PET 2020, candidates to fill and submit the application form before the last date of submission.  Along with the application form, candidates are required to pay the application fee of BHU PET 2020. For the reference of candidates, below are the steps to be followed while filling the application form of BHU PET 2020.

How to fill BHU PET Application Form 2020

Step 1- Get Register- Candidates need to visit the application form link and register by selecting the course they like to apply for. Once that is done, candidates are required to enter details like email-ID, password (6 alphanumeric characters), date of birth, gender, parent’s name, address and mobile number. 

Step 2 – Registration Validation – Once all the above-mentioned details are submitted, candidates can see the confirmation message on their screen. Also, they will receive the confirmation message at their registered email address and mobile number along with the validation code. Candidates need to click on this activation link and continue filling the application form. 

Step 3 –Application Form Status- Fill the application form by entering all the requisite details like personal, academic informations, Aadhaar details. 

Step 4 –Upload Scanned Images- After filling the application form, upload the scanned images of photograph and signature in the prescribed format and dimensions. 

Step 5 – Select Test Centre- Candidates are required to enter the exam centres in order of their preference. A maximum of five exam centres can be selected while filling the application form.  

Step 6 –Submission of Application Form-  Review and check all the details mentioned in the application form and submit it.

Step 7 – Application Fee Payment- Finally, candidates have to pay the requisite application fee either in online or offline mode. In case any candidate opts for offline mode, he/ she needs to take a printout of the Challan from the entrance test portal. The challan carries details of the candidate, Banaras Hindu University bank account details in which fee is deposited and the exact amount to be deposited. Vist the nearby HDFC Bank and deposit the fees.

Mode of Payment: Candidates can pay the application fees in the below given mode:

Online Payment: Credit/debit card, net banking can be used for online payment. 

Offline Payment: The application fees can be also paid in Cash through “Challan” in any branch of HDFC Bank. 

Step 8- Take a Printout of Filled in Application- Once they have submitted the application form and fees, take a printout of application form of BHU PET 2020 for future reference. 

Note: Candidates do not need to send the application form or any other documents to the university.

BHU PET L.L.M Exam Pattern

For LLM course, BHU PET 2019 will have one question paper which will carry 120 multiple choice questions on Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Law of Crimes, Law of Torts,  Law of Contracts, Public International Law, Environmental Law, Hindu Law Indian Evidence Act and Muslim Law.

Candidate will be given two hours to complete the entrance test which will be of 360 marks in total.

The entrance examination will held both in English and Hindi.

NIPER JEE result is declared a few days after the date of exam. The result of NIPER JEE is announced in online mode. NIPER JEE result is released in the form of merit list. It is based on the performance of the candidate in the entrance exam. All the candidates who qualify in NIPER JEE, have to participate in the counselling wherein they are awarded the institute based on the NIPER JEE result. A separate result is declared containing list of candidates who clear the exam as well the stages of counselling (group discussion and/ or interview). 

Steps to check NIPER JEE result:

2. Click on the link to NIPER Joint Entrance Examination (NIPER JEE)

3. Candidates can find the different postgraduate courses (M.B.A, M. Pharm and Ph.D) and have to choose amongst them.

4. The merit list for chosen option displays on screen.

The merit list will not show candidate’s name but the application number, category and the All India Rank (AIR) obtained by the candidate.

BHU PET 2020 cut off mentions the minimum rank that candidates must score in the entrance test to qualify the exam and be eligible for admissions into the university for PG courses. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of scores obtained in BHU PET 2020 and their meeting the cut-offs will be sent call letters for counselling.

Banaras Hindu University will conduct the counselling of BHU PET 2020 from the second week of July 2020. The authorities will conduct BHU PET counselling 2020 procedure for admissions to various courses in online mode. However, all the eligible candidates will be issued counselling call letter before the counselling commences. Candidates will be required to download counselling letter and take a print out of it, before the process commences. Mentioned below are the steps that will be involved in BHU PET counselling 2020 process:

Steps Involved in BHU PET 2020 Counselling

Step1- Online Entry of Preferences/Choices- Candidates need to log-in to their portal and fill the course choice, location preference and type of seats they want. While allotting the seats, these entries will be taken into consideration.  

Step 2- Report to Counselling Venue For Verification- Candidates will have to report at the counselling venue on the scheduled date and time mentioned on their counselling call letter. Along with the counselling call letter, candidates will be required to carry all the requisite documents to the venue. On reaching the venue, candidates will have to verify the documents. Further, they will be allotted seats based on their option entry and merit. 

Step 3- Payment of Academic Fees- Once the candidate is allotted seat, they will be issued provisional seat allotment letter. To confirm their seat, candidates will have to pay the requisite academic fees either through credit/debit card, payment gateway available at the venue or through cash directly. 

Step 4- Submission of Payment Proof- On the next day of BHU PET counselling, candidates will have to submit the receipt of payment proof either at the counselling venue or at the centre in charge. In case the candidate has made the online payment, they will not be required to do so. If candidates fail to submit proof of payment by the next day of seat allotment, their admission will be cancelled. 

Subsequent rounds of BHU PET 2020 counselling will be held till the vacant seats are filled.
