* The data was compiled based on previous bank recruitments & may change. The final decision to include the relaxations, rests with the selection Bodies. |
MBA is not necessary for entry-level recruitments conducted by banks. Entry-level jobs include Clerks, Probationary Officers & in some cases Managers. To apply for these positions, the minimum eligibility would be a Degree or Pass in 12th/10th std in any discipline.
* In case the recruitment is for specialised posts like Agriculture, Systems, IT, Credit, Finance etc., – candidates with Degree in those subjects are asked to apply.
Specialist Officers have expertise in a specific area, in which they may have graduated or had a good experience. Example – A Graduate in Agriculture/Horticulture/Allied sciences can be appointed as a Specialist officer to lend loans to farmers, agricultural companies & to collect deposits from nearby farms, dairies etc., Since these people are specialized in a particular field, they are used by banks to work more closely with that specific public community.
Specialist officers are also appointed based on the need, vision, business, and reach of the bank. If a bank has huge foreign deposits or if it handles a large number of foreign transactions, a specialist officer with strong knowledge of foreign exchange policies, rules etc may be appointed.
This is the main reason why banks expect candidates graduated from the specific stream like Electronics, Computer science, Agriculture, Horticulture & other subjects to apply for the post of Specialist Officers. In short, the role of Specialist Officers is much needed, if the bank is willing to reach out to all parts of societies in the country.
