JEE – JEE stands for Joint Entrance Exam. Difference Between IIT and JEE One has to go through JEE, to enter an IIT. It is an engineering entrance assessment conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India. Other than admission to the 23 IITs, the exam is conducted for admission into 31 National Institutes of Technology, 25 Indian Institutes of Information Technology, and various other colleges around the country. JEE consists of 2 levels – JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
JEE Main – JEE main offers a chance to get admission to Undergraduate Engineering programs and prestigious institutions like NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, etc. Candidates have to clear the JEE main to appear for JEE advanced. It also comprises a second paper that offers admission to B. Arch and B. Planning Courses.
JEE Advanced – One can appear for the Advanced, by attaining a rank within the top 250,000. To get admission into various undergraduate programs across all the 23 IITs, candidates will have to clear the second level of JEE, which is JEE Advanced.
